Anzac Day Kokoda Trek 2020

Little Heroes Take on Kokoda... again!

The Kokoda Track is a journey into Australia’s wartime history. Throughout the region, which appears much as it did in 1942, trenches and rusted weapons can still be seen. Plus, there are almost none of the facilities a tourist might expect to find: no electricity, no shops, and each madly rushing stream is crossed by means of a simple log bridge.

Please note that registrations for the 2020 trek are still open. If you are interested in joining the team to trek for Little Heroes Foundation, please click the button below to register your details.

Raised so Far

Following the success of our 2017 tour, which raised in excess of $76,000 for our Little Heroes, we have decided to put together another team of trekkers to tackle the Kokoda Track.

Our 2020 Adventure Tour will have an additional special meaning, as our team will travel from April 19th to the 30th, meaning the trek will include an Anzac Day ceremony to commemorate the sacrifice of Australian and New Zealand soldiers.

We are also very excited to confirm that Anna Meares will be leading our team in 2020!

About the Trek

2020 marks the 78th anniversary of the Kokoda Track Campaign during World War II in 1942.

While the Gallipoli Campaign during World War I was Australia’s first military test as a new nation, the Kokoda Campaign represented the first time in the nation’s history that its security was directly threatened.

The Kokoda campaign is recognised as a turning point in the war, and has not only rightfully cemented itself in Anzac Legend, but has also created an incredible bond between Australia and Papua New Guinea.

While the military history of the Kokoda track is the prime motivator for many, it is interaction with the local culture and stunning tropical wilderness that makes this trek so special.

Following the success of the 2017 team of trekkers, Little Heroes Foundation has decided to put together another team to conquer the Kokoda track in 2020, this time across a very special time of year - Anzac Day.
